Take a Tour of our new Studio!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the new studio, let us take you on a virtual tour! The space is nice, and big! We’ve kept our classes the same size, because we know that smaller classes work for our students and our teachers. But, the space will allow us to have bigger classes and events on special occasions.
Row by Row Experience 2015
Did someone say quilt shop road trip? We are a week into the Ontario Row by Row Experience, and we are already seeing lots of new faces in the shop! If you participated last year, you know that the Row by Row shop hop is a great way to discover new quilt shops.
Three New Classes!
It’s new class season at the workroom! (Just kidding. Every season is new class season at the workroom.) And this time, we have three new ones on the roster! Be one of the first to tackle these cute projects!
New! Haptic Lab Quilt Kits
We were pretty excited to receive a shipment of Haptic Lab DIY quilt kits in the shop last week. We’ve been lusting after people’s Haptic projects for a long while, and now we can get cracking on our own map and constellation quilts! It would be so neat to customize these quilt projects with your favourite landmarks and places. The finished size of 36” x 42” would make a great baby or lap quilt, or even a wall hanging.
Debbie & Erin's Duffle Bags
One of the fun things about taking a class at the workroom is seeing all the ways people realize a project, from different fabrics to different finishes. Such was definitely the case with Debbie and Erin’s duffle bags, which they both finished in Guy’s class last month.
Erin's Castle Treasury Quilt
Erin’s Castle Treasury is a pastel dream. The quilting pattern, Circle Play, brings a whole new shape into this quilt. And, Erin certainly lived up to her reputation of putting Kona solid Ice Peach in every quilt with this one! Best of all, this Castle Treasury screams spring, making it the perfect project to be wrapping up as we wait for the flowers to grace us.
City of Craft Spring
City of Craft Spring is this weekend, and the workroom’s sweet city women will be there!
At the workroom table, you’ll find patterns, scrap bundles, back issues of Uppercase, fat quarter bundles, select vintage patterns, little notions, and whatever other little treats we can fit in the truck! And, the other vendors will have new handmade items and some vintage supplies and goodies. There will be lots of new vendors this year!
Bernina Spring Forward Sale
All sewing machines and sergers at the workroom are made by Bernina. We love the quality, reliability and ease-of-use with these machines. Every Bernina sewing machine or serger comes with a one year warranty and private lesson to learn all about your new machine.
The Craft Sessions
Do you see us turning blue? That’s because we’re proud as peacocks of our special handwork teacher, Carolanne Graham. Carolanne was just featured in Melbourne craft blog, The Craft Sessions!
2014 Row by Row Winner
Congratulations to Kathy McCallum! Kathy was the first person to bring a completed quilt to the workroom during the shop hop. Kathy's quilt contained eight rows from different stores around Ontario, including our Sunburst pattern.
Ontario Row by Row Shop Hop
the workroom is very excited to participate in this year's Ontario Row by Row Shop Hop! The concept is super fun and there are over 80 quilt shops in Ontario that are taking part. Each shop has designed a quilt row based on the theme 'Sew a Season'.
Sixth Anniversary
Every October we like to celebrate our anniversary with you! This year marks our sixth year. Today, October 8th from 6-9pm we'll be having our annual party - there will be lots of good cheese, drinks, and snacks. Plus, there will be prizes.
