ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The Merchant & Mills Quinn are sailor-inspired wide leg trousers with back welt pockets and front pockets with button openings. They’re a substantial make - structured, well-detailed, and built to last in the right fabric. Cotton twill, denim, corduroy, linen, and light to medium weight woolens all work well. This four-week Zoom sewing workshop focuses on the construction details that define this trouser: welt pocket construction, front pocket finishing, waistband work, and a clean wide leg.
WHAT YOU’LL MAKE
A well-constructed pair of Quinn trousers in your choice of fabric - cotton twill, denim, corduroy, linen, or a light to medium weight woolen.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
- Reading and working from a garment pattern
- Back welt pocket construction from start to finish
- Front pockets with button openings - construction and clean finishing
- Waistband construction and attachment
- Buttonholes: presser feet, testing, and sewing them cleanly from start to finish
WHAT YOU’LL GET
- 8 hours of live online sewing instruction across 4 Tuesday evening sessions

A NOTE ON FIT
We’ll cover fit and sizing in the first session. Due to the nature of Zoom workshops, complex fitting is beyond what we can cover thoroughly, but you’ll leave the first session knowing your size and what simple adjustments to make before you cut.
