ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The Merchant & Mills Cassidy is an unstructured jumpsuit with an elasticated back, front tie, side pockets, and a wide leg. You choose long or short sleeves. It’s practical, adaptable, and works across a good range of medium-weight fabrics. This four-week Zoom sewing workshop focuses on construction: getting the fit right through the body, sewing a clean wide-leg trouser, setting side pockets, and finishing the sleeve and neckline details neatly.
WHAT YOU’LL MAKE
A well-constructed Cassidy Jumpsuit in your choice of sleeve length and fabric - sanded twill, denim, linen, or a linen/cotton blend all work well.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
- Reading and working from a garment pattern
- Constructing and setting side pockets in a wide-leg trouser
- Sewing an elasticated back casing and attaching a front tie
- Sleeve options: choosing between long and short, and finishing each cleanly
- Fabric selection for an unstructured garment that holds its shape
- Buttonholes: presser feet, testing, and sewing them cleanly from start to finish

- 8 hours of live online sewing instruction across 4 Tuesday evening sessions

A NOTE ON FIT
We’ll cover fit and sizing in the first session. Due to the nature of Zoom workshops, complex fitting is beyond what we can cover thoroughly, but you’ll leave the first session knowing your size and what simple adjustments to make before you cut.
