CreativFestival 2019
The CreativFestival starts today! The show runs for three days and ends on Saturday October 19th. We are all set up with lots of our favourite local brands like Reliable, Soak, The Love of Colour, Simple Quilt Co., and Handmade Getaway, plus bundles, kits, patterns, scrap packs, remnants and more! Merchant & Mills Jacquards
Merchant & Mills Jacquard Cottons are a clear hit! This squishy quilted fabric arrived on Tuesday and was mostly sold out within 24 hours. Did you miss out on this delivery? We have put in a second order and once we get a shipping confirmation we'll post up a pre-order for you. Stay tuned to our Instagram where we'll post right away to let you know. In the meantime, we're looking forward to seeing some of this deluxe fabric sewn up.
Rifle Paper Co. Meadow
The much anticipated Rifle Paper Co. Meadow collection arrived this week, in all its' floral glory. We received just the twenty three piece cotton collection, the canvas is shipping separately. We know many of you are die-hard Rifle fans and we think you'll love sewing with Meadow. Rifle Paper Co. Meadow collection is a lovely range of florals to add to your Rifle Paper stash. (We know you have one!) We always gravitate towards these charming prints and love when they appear in your class projects. There is a limited quantity of this collection in stock, so grab your fat quarter or half metre bundle before they are gone!
Sashiko Pillowcase
Carolanne's handwork enthusiasts will be excited for her new Sashiko Pillowcase workshop. In this class you will explore Hitomezashi (one stitch) Sashiko, where straight lines of stitching meet or cross to make the design. We will use a simple grid to create the traditional Urokozaski or fish scale stitch on a small piece of fabric. In the second class you will learn the burrito method, to incorporate your stitched hem into a custom pillowcase.
Herringbone Scarf
New Class! Weave yourself the most cozy wool Herringbone Scarf in Joanna’s latest floor loom workshop. All scarves will have a grey warp and students can choose from cream, blush, light grey, light blue or curry for their weft. Finished size is 9" × 68" with added fringe. Space is very limited for this new workshop!

Wildwood Yonder Quilt Kit
We’ve finally got everything together for the Rifle Paper Co. Wildwood Yonder Quilt Kits. We've been collecting for these kits for months and many of these Wildwood prints are no longer available. There are two kit sizes to choose from Throw Size (72" × 72") or Twin Size (90" × 90") and quantities are very limited. If you love Wildwood this is a great way to showcase this gorgeous collection.
Intro to Cross Stitch
Grab a June Bug and Darlin cross stitch kit for the drive to the cottage or to do in the evenings while you’re cozy on the couch. You can also use these fun kits in our Intro to Cross Stitch class. Johanna will show you the ropes to being an efficient and tidy stitcher, like only she can.
Woven Rag Rug
New Class! This beautiful Woven Rag Rug is the answer to your scrap fabric prayers. You'll learn to prepare your scraps into ‘yarn’ that you'll weave on a specially designed frame loom over four weeks. We expect this session to fill up very quickly but you'll see it again later this fall if you miss it this time around. This is the newest addition to our Eco-Friendly roster of classes. We are continuing to look for ways to reduce, reuse and repair what we already have.
Pietra Pants
New Class! Pietra Pants is a great beginner level pants workshop. Since there is no closure, just an elastic backed waistband, you’ll get the experience of making one of four versions of this Closet Core pattern without needing to sew a zipper or fly front. There’s nothing to fear but flattering pants in this new workshop.
Wool Felt
Wool Felt has been our number one most requested fabric over the years and this week we received our first delivery of fifteen beautiful colours that are available in pre-cut fat quarters, off the bolt or in a fluffy bundle of the whole set.
Ruby Star Society
Ruby Star Society is here and it's glorious! We had such fun unpacking the first collections from this new company that features some of our favourite designers - Melody Miller, Rashida Coleman-Hale, Sarah Watts, and Kimberly Kight. The first six collections - Spark, Pop, Anagram, Social, Grid, and Zip are here in the shop and we sold out of our first print within hours!
