Our Second Community Fabric Exchange!
Community Fabric Exchange!
We're planning our second Community Fabric Exchange in our Parkdale Studio on Sunday October 20th from 3-6pm!
Do you have fabric that is no longer your style? Meant for a project that didn’t come to pass? Just needs to find a new home? Bring at least 1 meter of clean garment, quilting cotton or accessory weight fabric and pass it along to another community member! Embrace slow making, pay it forward and be prepared to leave with less than you brought.
Participation Guidelines:
- Garment fabric, quilting cottons (no Kona solids) and canvas accepted.
- Minimum yardage required to participate is 1m total of fabric. Can be broken down into FQs, half meter, full meter or more. No scraps, minimum 1/4 meter usable fabric. Smaller complete precut sets (jelly rolls, charm packs etc.) can be included.
- For all fabrics, participants will fill out an info card that will include details such as yardage, fibre content, width, pre washed etc. The cards will be provided in advance by email however participants will also be able to complete them on the day.
- If you are not able to attend the exchange but have fabrics you would like to include they can be dropped off in advance at our Parkdale Studio during local pick up hours. Fabrics that are dropped off in advance must be labeled prior to drop off.
- All fabrics left at the end of the exchange will be donated to the Textile Museum of Canada.
The Community Fabric Exchage is taking place at The Workroom Studio - Parkdale located at 207 Cowan Avenue Studio A.

A note about the possible Canada Post Strike
Just a quick note to let you know we're keeping a close eye on the potential Canada Post strike to ensure your orders still get to you without delay.
We have already started using our alternate courier services to keep things running smoothly for you. Please note that we will not be able to ship to PO Boxes in the meantime.
Vintage Seed Cabinet Solids Bundle
We just created a special new bundle - Vintage Seed Cabinet. This Kona bundle was pulled straight from the front window, literally. Inspired by the antique green cabinet, which is still covered in old seed packet and hardware labels, this palette is a love letter to timeworn beauty.
