Make your own Nova Coat. This dramatic cocoon coat is endlessly versatile - choose a lightweight fabric for a spring/summer layer, or a cosy wool or jacquard for cooler days. The fully lined Nova features angled seaming with pockets hidden in the front and options for cropped or long sleeves, full-length coat or shorter jacket. A pattern for every season.
Wrap yourself in the swoopy, cocoon-y goodness of the Papercut Nova Coat (formerly “Sapporo”). This lined, drop-shoulder coat is a modern wardrobe staple with dramatic curved seams, roomy pockets, and an easy fit that shines in everything from wool coating to denim or heavy linen. It’s a terrific first coat and a satisfying make for more experienced sewists who want a polished, fully lined finish.
Skill level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate. You’re comfortable using a sewing machine and have sewn a few garments. No prior coatmaking experience needed.
