Merchant & Mills have explored the concept and designs within the book through conversations with makers of varying disciplines, from weaving to wood turning. These makers model the patterns and tell us a little of their story and their craft.

• A classic shirt (choose to make a shirt or shirt dress with a shirt or grandad collar)

In each chapter Merchant & Mills will talk through the cloth used and offer tips and advice on handling and finishing. This is not a beginner’s book but nor is it advanced.
