ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The Merchant & Mills Joa Gilet is a lined wrap top with ties at the side. Choose to make it in a quilted fabric or not. Joa looks great in denim, layered cotton jacquard or quilted cottons. This two-session Zoom sewing workshop focuses on the key construction decisions choosing your version, bias finishes and working with quilted fabric.
WHAT YOU’LL MAKE
Joa is a simple, lined wrap top with ties at the side. Choose to make it quilted or not. Joa looks great in denim, layered cotton jacquard or quilted cottons. Wear on its own or layer it up in the colder months as a gilet. This pattern includes instructions for quilting your own fabric or you can use one of our pre-quilted Indian Cottons or layered cotton jacquards. It’s a quick and satisfying make and a simple introduction to quilting for beginners.

- Reading and working from a garment pattern
- Bias binding a neckline: a clean finish for necklines and armholes on tops and dresses

- 6 hours of live online sewing instruction across 3 Saturday morning sessions

A NOTE ON FIT
We'll cover fit and sizing in the first session. Due to the nature of Zoom workshops, complex fitting is beyond what we can cover thoroughly, but you'll leave the first session knowing your size and what simple adjustments to make before you cut.
