To make a lap-sized quilt:
· 1.5 metres of solid fabric*
· 1.5 metres of muslin or patterned fabric for backing*
· 1.5 metres of quilt batting*
· 0.5 metres of fabric for binding*
To make an 18" cushion:
· fat quarter of solid fabric*
· fat quarter of batting 20"×20"*
· fat quarter of muslin for basting*
· fat quarter of fabric for pillow back*

For all projects:
· ideas for your quilting design: stencils, images, fabric pattern design, magazine clipping, graphic element, etc
· neutral thread (ivory or grey) for basting*
· mechanical pencil with water soluble lead*
· fabric scissors*
· Q-Snap quilting frame or wooden quilting hoop*

There are three different thread options for quilting (choose one)
Your thread choice will determine the needle you need
· quilting thread*
· sashiko thread*
· pearl cotton embroidery thread*
