Workshop Description

The True Bias Lander Pants are a modern classic: a structured, high-waisted trouser with clean lines, thoughtful details, and a beautifully crisp silhouette. With options for shorts, cropped pants, or full length, the Lander is a deeply satisfying project that builds core garment-making skills.

In this workshop, I sew the full garment alongside you, offering detailed, step-by-step instruction while sharing my complete thought process. You’ll see how I plan construction order, troubleshoot in real time, and make decisions that lead to accurate, durable results. My aim is to demystify techniques that often feel intimidating, like the button fly and waistbands and help you approach pants-making with clarity and confidence.

Over four live Zoom sessions, we’ll walk through the full construction of the pants, focusing on precision, structure, and beautifully finished interiors.

• How to sew and press front pockets and back patch pockets

• Accurate button fly installation

• Waistband construction and topstitching tips

We’ll discuss foundational fit and simple adjustments. Complex or personalized fitting is beyond the scope of this Zoom workshop.

You’ll need the True Bias Lander Pants pattern for this workshop.

• PDF patterns can be purchased directly from the designer - True Bias

• After purchase, you may upload your A0 file to the workroom for wide-format printing, or print the tiled version at home.

• We normally carry the print version of this pattern, but it is out of stock from the designer currently

Please have your pattern and fabric available for our first class. We’ll begin by discussing sizing, measurements, ease, and preparation before cutting anything. Understanding fit at the start is a key part of learning to sew structured garments.
