March Scraps Challenge

A Year of Intentional Making

The Scraps Challenge is part of our Year of Intentional Making, a series built around working thoughtfully with what we already have. Across the year, we’ll focus on finishing, scraps, mending, repurposing, and returning to projects that are already in our hands.

Rather than constantly reaching for something new, this series invites us to slow down, use what’s within reach, and see what becomes possible when we work within gentle constraints.

This month, our focus is scraps.

Over three relaxed Zoom gatherings, we’ll share scrap systems, work on scrap-based projects, and finish with an hour of improv patchwork, giving ourselves time to sort, sew, and exchange ideas in community.

Part of our 2026 Year of Intentional Making, this bi-monthly challenge series is designed to help you slow down, work thoughtfully with what you already have, and reconnect with the joy of making.

This Challenge Is For You If…

  • You have a growing pile of fabric scraps you can’t quite part with
  • You feel a spark of possibility when you see small pieces
  • You want to explore creative reuse without needing a full garment commitment
  • You appreciate dedicated, scheduled time to experiment and play
  • You’d love inspiration and community support while you turn “leftovers” into something meaningful

Keeping it small is welcome. So is experimenting, or gently organizing your scraps so your bin becomes a resource you’re excited to reach into.
